Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery specializes in the surgical management of diseases that affect the liver, pancreas and biliary system. We treat primary cancers of these organs, metastatic spread from other cancers and also non-oncologic conditions such as complex gallstone disease and pancreatitis.

 

Our HPB surgeons have advanced training in complex liver, pancreas and bile duct operations. Dr. Shum completed Fellowship training in Multi-Organ Transplantation at the University of Western Ontario and Dr. Asai completed his training at the University of Toronto and then the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

 

HPB Surgery operates at Health Sciences North hospital in Sudbury Ontario Canada. We are one of ten centres designated by Cancer Care Ontario to surgically treat oncologic diseases of the liver, pancreas and biliary system.

Referrals are accepted by primary care physicians, other specialists and nurse practitioners.
