Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery specializes in the surgical management of diseases that affect the liver, pancreas and biliary system. We treat primary cancers of these organs and also metastatic spread from other areas as well as non-oncologic conditions such as complex gallstone disease.

 

Our three HPB surgeons have advanced training in complex liver, pancreas and bile duct operations. Dr. Shum and Dr. Patel completed Fellowships in Multi-Organ Transplantation at the University of Western Ontario and Dr. Asai completed his training at the University of Toronto and then the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

 

We are one of ten centres designated by Cancer Care Ontario to surgically treat oncologic diseases of the liver, pancreas and biliary system.
